Book Review: “Here’s Some Happy” by Gina Graham

Posted on November 20, 2017November 20, 2017 by Laura Zielke

Here’s Some Happy!

What are you in the mood for? Coloring? Journaling? Meditating on Scripture? All of the above? Well, guess what?! I found a beautiful, sturdy coloring journal that’s filled with frilly drawings, inspiring verses, and lots of lined space for journaling.Β ?

It Passed the Test!

I gave this book my standard test using a variety of media, and it passed with flying colors (no pun intended). The ink did not bleed throughβ€”which is super important when you consider that one side of every page is lined for your writing pleasure.Β

This 128-page, 10×10-inch, hard-cover book is perfect-bound with a soft, colorful cover that opens flat and stays open while you color and/or journal. Yasss!!!Β

The pages are thick and slightly textured (you can see some of the texture in the orange block, bottom right); the pictures are beautiful, light-hearted, and fun!

Add Textures and Patterns

There is plenty of white space within the drawings where you can add your own patterns and texturesβ€”you can customize it to your own tastes. They really thought of everything when they pulled theΒ Here’s Some Happy coloring journal together.Β

If you click the picture below, you can see the texture I added to the gray loops on the umbrella (with a silver gel pen).Β

Here’s Some Happy: A Coloring Journal to Lift the SoulΒ by Gina Graham would make a wonderful addition to your own collection, and I also think it would make a great gift for the thoughtful creatives in your life.Β

DAY 21 πŸ΄β˜• MARTHA When we first meet Martha, DAY 21 πŸ΄β˜• MARTHA

When we first meet Martha, she is busy entertaining a house FULL of guests. Martha, her sister Mary, and their brother Lazarus live together in the town of Bethany which is located less than two miles from Jerusalem.

We have no idea how old any of them are; however, there are a few significant clues in the Gospels which indicate they were people of means. πŸͺ™πŸͺ™πŸͺ™

Martha is an extrovert who has the gift of hospitality and delights in opening their home to friends and family. Some of her favorite frequent visitors include a traveling teacher/healer (Messiah?!) named Jesus and his 12+ disciples.

DAY 20 🌟 ANNA We first meet Anna at the same p DAY 20 🌟 ANNA

We first meet Anna at the same place we could have met her any other day in the previous 60+ years of her life: the Temple in Jerusalem.

Anna is the only named woman in the New Testament who is called a prophetess, and she has a pretty amazing encounter about 40 days after Mary of Nazareth delivers her firstborn son.

DAY 19 🌟 MARY OF NAZARETH When we first meet M DAY 19 🌟 MARY OF NAZARETH

When we first meet Mary, she is at her home in Nazareth in Galilee. We don't know exactly how old she is, but we do know she is old enough to be betrothed (like engagement on steroids) to a man named Joseph and old enough to get pregnant.

While the story might be super familiar, there are a couple insights I hope you'll pick up on that maybe you haven't noticed before.
